ACCESS Students please remember that work can be completed at home, with the exception of tests.  Most ACCESS students will have homework that must be completed at home or in the library after school.  Each ACCESS student must turn in a grade report each Friday to Mrs. Cooper.

PROGRESS REPORTS WILL GO HOME - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 9.  ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A PARENT SIGN THE REPORT AND RETURN TO SCHOOL WITHIN A WEEK.

Mrs. Cooper will meet with all Seniors this Thursday to discuss scholarships and college applications.  Seniors will travel to Hamilton this Friday, September 3 for College Day. 

Homecoming and class elections will be held Wednesday during 2nd period. 

Pep Rally this Friday at 2:40

Cheerleaders will be selling game day ribbons today – $1.00 each   

Varsity Football this Friday night vs. Brilliant – game time 7:00

All parking fees must be paid by Friday – Tickets will be issued starting Tuesday, September 7.  See Ms. Seals to purchase a parking pass.

Seniors chances on the Wal-mart and Gas Card are due Friday.

Important Message from the MCHS Alumni Association

Please go to http://marioncountyhighschool.org and register with the MCHS Alumni Association.  We have started this site to share information about our yearly banquet, update alumni class names and addresses, and to replace costly yearly mailings.  Be sure to select the Guin AL site as there are several Marion County High Schools listed.  Please share this information/site with everyone you know who graduated from Marion County High School.  We really do need names and updated addresses

Better Business Bureau Scholarship Applications are in Mrs. Cooper's Office - Deadline is October 1. Essay Required - Juniors and Seniors may apply.  MCHS had a winner last year.

Seniors – Mrs. Cooper has scholarship information from Alabama, Auburn, and Montevallo in her office.  Seniors applying to Alabama and Auburn should do so as soon as possible. 

Wendy's High School Heisman Award info is in Mrs. Cooper's office.  Deadline to apply is October 3.  Apply at www.wendysheisman.com.  This scholarship is for any male or female athlete (any sport) with a B average.  IF MCHS has 5 or more applicants the school has a chance to $500.00!

UNA Scholarship Update - Scholarship Deadline - Feb. 1

Academic Scholarships - Minimum 3.25 GPA on Core Courses

ACT score of 33-36 - Full tuition + Room + Books

ACT score of 32 - Full tuition + Room

ACT score of 29 - 31 - Full tuition

ACT score of 28 - $4,700 per year

ACT score of 26 - 27 - $3500 per year

ACT score of 25 - $2700 per year

A student must be admitted to UNA by Feb. 1 to be considered for these scholarships

Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarships to UNA - $3600 per year and a minimum ACT score of 20

Leadership Scholarships - 3.0  GPA and ACT score of 20 - from $1200.00 per year to Full-Tuition  - A resume' is required.
